Received MSc Engg (Electrical) degree from BUET, Dhaka in 1977. 
 

Received PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University (Gonville & Caius College), Cambridge (UK) in 1986.

Awards:

• Received the "Junior Group Academy Award 1988 Gold Medal" of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) for contribution in the field of Microwave Engineering. This award was jointly given by the Bangladesh Academy ofSciences Dhaka, Third World Academy of Science(Italy) and The British Council.
• In 1991, received "The Matsumae International Foundation Research Fellowship" of Japan.
• In 1983, received a three-year Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholarship. In 1984, also received Overseas Research Students Award (ORS) of UK for 2 years. 

Experiences:

• 2 year 2 months as the Vice Chancellor  of Dhaka International University (DIU), Dhaka on 1 April 2024. 

• 4 years 3 days as the Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka  (23 June 2016 - 25 May 2020).

   
• 48 years 5 months of teaching, research and administrative experience  of which 29 years 0 months as a Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, BUET, Dhaka  (on 1 April 2024).
